Your chat history is stored only in your own browser (localStorage) — it is never sent to or stored on any server. Clearing your browser data or using a different browser/device starts a fresh, empty history. A random device identifier and your IP address are used momentarily, server-side, only to enforce daily usage limits (e.g. how many messages per day) — this is not linked to any personal profile and is not saved anywhere permanently.
File uploads (images and documents) are not available while signed out — see below for why.
Signing in unlocks file uploads and saves your conversation so it's available next time you sign in. When you sign in, we receive and store:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your Google account email, name, and profile photo | To identify your account and personalize the chat |
| Your chat messages (text) | So your conversation persists across sessions/devices |
| Attached file metadata (filename, extension, size) | Kept for every file, regardless of size |
| Attached file content | Only kept for files 300KB or smaller — larger files are processed for the AI response but their content is never saved to the database |
We do not receive or store your Google password — sign-in is verified directly by Google, and this app never sees your credentials.
Chat messages and file records are cleared periodically (roughly every 5–7 days, depending on the developer's availability) to keep storage costs manageable on a free-tier database. Your account itself is not deleted when this happens — signing in again afterward just starts with an empty history under the same account.
Your messages (and any attached files) are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a response — this is how the AI assistant works. Gemini API requests are routed through free-tier API keys volunteered by supporting developers (see the Acknowledgments page); those volunteers do not see your individual messages, they only contribute API capacity. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or other third parties.
We do not attempt to detect whether one person is using multiple accounts on the same device. That kind of detection has a real risk of falsely flagging innocent users, so it's intentionally not implemented.
You can use the entire calculator suite and text chat without ever signing in. If you've signed in and want your account data removed sooner than the next periodic purge, contact com.solodev@gmail.com.
This policy may be updated as the project evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
