Terms & Agreement

Last updated: July 2026

1. What this is

Discrete Math Calc is a free, independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced on behalf of any school or institution. The AI chat assistant is a supplementary feature powered by Google's Gemini API.

2. The AI assistant can make mistakes

Responses from the chat assistant are generated by an AI model and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Always verify important answers, especially before an exam or assignment. The assistant is a study aid, not a substitute for your instructor or course materials.

3. Usage limits

To keep this project free for everyone, usage is limited per device per day: a maximum message length, a maximum number of chat messages, and a maximum number of image/document attachments. These limits may change over time as the project's capacity changes.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use the assistant to attempt to extract API keys, bypass usage limits, generate harmful content, or submit content you don't have the right to share (e.g. someone else's private documents).

5. Privacy

What we collect, why, and how long we keep it is covered in full in the Privacy Policy. In short: if you're not signed in, your chat stays only in your own browser and is never sent to a server. Signing in with Google unlocks file uploads and saves your conversation to your account.

6. Volunteer-contributed API capacity

This project's AI features are powered by API keys voluntarily contributed by multiple developers who support the project's goal of helping students. Contributed keys are used only to serve requests through this app's server-side proxy and are never exposed to end users. See the Acknowledgments page for more detail.

7. No warranty

This tool is provided as-is, free of charge, with no guarantee of availability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose.

8. Changes

These terms may be updated as the project evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
